COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Commissioners approved a variety of measures at their Monday morning meeting. They okayed the highway department’s request to receive bids, on May 6, for construction of a new bridge south of County Road 900E and just off County Road 300E. They signed a letter of commitment and authorization with the Indiana Department of Transportation for railroad crossing signal installations at County Roads 650N, 950E, and 800N. They also approved dedication of a 35-foot right of way along County Road 800N for Meadow Lawn minor subdivision. It had recently passed the joint Edinburgh/Bartholomew County Plan Commission. And finally, the commissioners ratified the purchase of $1,416 for a camera from Security Automation Systems for Circuit Court Youth Services. There were no other bids sought because the camera in question is unique to the system already in place.
