INDOT postpones State Road 45 closure

BEANBLOSSOM, Ind. – Due to recent rain, the closure of State Road 45 near Bean Blossom Creek, between Carmel Ridge Road and West Lost Branch Road in Brown County, has been postponed until Monday, May 6, weather permitting. The highway will be closed for approximately five days for a culvert replacement project.

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says the official state detour is to use State Road 46.

INDOT seeks statewide transportation program input

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is seeking public comment on the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), a federally mandated four-year funding and scheduling document for surface transportation projects in Indiana. Project types involving pavement and bridge facilities, projects addressing safety, congestion, mobility, and emergency response can be found in the STIP. As part of INDOT's commitment to public outreach and engagement, open houses are scheduled throughout the state this spring to solicit input from Hoosiers. INDOT team members will be available to address questions on a variety of topics. The south-central Indiana area open house is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Columbus East High School. State Road 45 in Brown Co. closes next week

BROWN COUNTY, Ind.- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is closing State Road 45, near Bean Blossom Creek, for a culvert replacement project. Traffic will not be allowed on the section of the highway between Carmel Ridge Road and West Lost Branch Road in Brown County, for five days beginning Monday, April 22, weather permitting. INDOT says the official state detour for the closure is State Road 46.

INDOT installs temporary signal on State Road 3

GREENSBURG, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has installed a temporary signal on State Road 3, between Interstate 74 and E. County Road 300 N, just north of Greensburg. The light, south of North Decatur High School, is to help traffic flow while an $820,000 bridge deck replacement project over Muddy Fork Sand Creek is being undertaken.

Work began Wednesday, and will be completed in phases over the next several months. The INDOT project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
